Peoples Bank & Trust Donates to the WooHoo Sisterhood
December 26, 2017
The Whoo Hoo Sisterhood was blessed by a generous donation from Peoples Bank and Trust. Representing and accepting the check from Terri Beal, AVP Consumer Banking on behalf of the sisterhood is Cheryl Hoffmeister, Emily Miller and Karen Hille.
“The Whoo Hoo Sisterhood” (The Jolene Arend Giving Fund) was started by family and friends in memory of Jolene Arend who died November 13, 2008, after a long battle with breast cancer. Jolene was a “silent” giver. She would often send cards and donations to people she barely knew and was always keeping them in prayer. After her death, we often heard from others what we already knew, that she was a kind, loving, giving person. When she was excited about something she always let out a big “Whoo Hoo!” Thus the name.
Cancer takes away so much, but the decision was made that it would not take that spirit. The group was formed with the mission to help as many people they could by money and words of prayer and support: All in loving memory of Jolene. The focus is not on the group but on the people they can help.
