Peoples Bank & Trust Contributes to MiRaza

Peoples Bank & Trust recently contributed $2,500 to Mi Raza to assist with expanding their community programs, enhancing educational resources, and supporting initiatives that empower local immigrant and minority families. Dale Boyer, Community Bank President, Rachel Lewis, Customer Service Representative, and Fredy Moreno, Assistant Vice President, Business Banking, presented the check to Tim and Debbie Flavin, directors.

Mi Raza Community Center in Arcola, Illinois, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the Hispanic/Latino and immigrant communities in Douglas County and the surrounding areas. Located at 113 Collins Street, it provides a range of services, including English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, citizenship education, immigration assistance, and community outreach programs. These services are designed to help immigrants integrate, thrive, and contribute to the local community. The organization does not charge fees for its programs, making them accessible to all eligible residents. Tim and Debbie Flavin have been heavily involved with the organization since 2005.

Moreno shared, “We at Peoples Bank and Trust are honored to support Mi Raza in their mission to empower and uplift the immigrant and minority communities. This contribution highlights our shared dedication to fostering growth, inclusion, and opportunity within Arcola and the surrounding area. Together, we are investing in a brighter future, strengthening the bonds of community, and celebrating the rich diversity that makes Arcola thrive.”
