David Sprigg Joins Peoples Bank & Trust as Community Bank President

Pana, Illinois: David Sprigg recently joined Peoples Bank & Trust as Community Bank President. In his role with the Bank, David will assume responsibilities in business banking in the Charleston area with particular emphasis on attracting branch customers for business lending and deposits solutions.

We believe he will be a tremendous asset to our Bank and to the Charleston community”, said John Gardner, Peoples Bank & Trust President and CEO. “He has shown professional leadership in every position that he has previously held and is an experienced bank executive. We are very pleased that he has agreed to join us”.

Prior to joining Peoples Bank and Trust, David was associated with Old National Bank as the Market President in Marshall, IL. David began his banking career as an investment broker and commercial lender with Terre Haute First National Bank from 1991-1995. He started an in-bank brokerage at Citizens Bank in Paris in 1996. David then served as a branch manager and commercial lender with Fifth Third (formerly Citizens Bank) from 1996-2002 in both Terre Haute and Sullivan, IN. He returned to Citizens National Bank, which later became First Farmers Bank, as a commercial lender from 2002-2013.

David graduated from Boonville Mo HS in 1974, attended the University of Missouri with a focus on Agricultural Economics and Marketing and graduated from Tarkio College in Missouri with a degree in Business Administration.

David is Vice Chairman of the Greater Wabash Valley SCORE Chapter and Vice Chairman of the Clark Edgar Rural Water District. He is a 10 year board member of the Enerstar Electric Coop Board and a past elder at the Marshall First Christian Church. David is married to Paula Sprigg, who is Director of Human Resources at Sisters of the Providence in West Terre Haute, IN. They have three grown children and their youngest son is a senior in High School at Marshall. David and Paula plan to continue to reside in the Marshall, IL area.
