Peoples Bank & Trust Donates to Altamont Meals on Wheels
December 5, 2017
Terri Beal, AVP, Consumer Banking at Peoples Bank & Trust recently presented a check for $500 to Mary Anderson, Site Volunteer for the Altamont Meals on Wheels program. In giving back to the community, Peoples Bank & Trust is committed to not only serving our customers, but also the communities it serves.
Keeping seniors healthier longer is the primary mission of the Meals on Wheels program. Meals on Wheels is administered by the C.E.F.S. program. A home delivered meal not only provides a hot nutritious meal, but also provides a daily check on the home-bound senior. The group dining program provides a socially interactive network which promotes mentally healthy activity and decreases isolation and depression. The Altamont Meal on Wheels program began in 1973. They serve an average of 20 delivered meals and 10 on site meals a day.
